I have little to no formal musical training and nobody ever taught me how to dj. Are those absurd times? I'm sure some will say they're up and running in a few minutes, while others say that's typical. That's up to 45 minutes just to make sure I have everything working. Meaning, hand-eye coordination of my setup, buttons, controls, etc.ġ0-15 minutes to play the songs, do a test recording to make sure I have the recording level correct, and there are no pops, cracks, or stutters.

Just to give you an idea of a typical day using Traktor Scratch Pro for me,ĥ-10 minutes starting my entire setup, just powering everything on, plugging it all together.ĥ-10 minutes playing a few songs, getting myself back in the rhythm of dj'ing. If that were the case, it would be an NI product and probably have a very high price tag. They'd never go out and say ONLY buy this computer and there is ONLY one configuration. But what is NI supposed to do about that? They're trying to sell a product that does what it says it's advertised to do. Most users are average users that don't have extensive knowledge of music, dj'ing, and computers. This constant "tuning" seems more complicated than a guitarist tuning his guitars before a gig. I have days where my setup works great, then other days the same configuration is garbage and I have to go through the optimization steps all over. The truth is, we are merging technology and "musical instruments" and it's very complicated. I'm neither supporting or arguing with others in this forum or NI. Djlotus, I TOTALLY feel for you as I've already gone through my rant in this forum.
